Ambassador Cason visits ophthalmologic clinic in Ciudad del Este This initiative has the support of the Embassy of the United States October 21, 2007 On October 19, Ambassador Cason visited the Eye Clinic of the Paraguayan Society of Ophthalmology in Ciudad del Este to launch the campaign “have an eye surgery

at home with security and responsibility”. Ambassador Cason talked to many of the patients and doctors about the surgeries. 

The first 25 cataract surgeries to patients of limited resources that live in the eastern part of the country started on Friday, November 19 and continued until Saturday with prestigious Paraguayan ophthalmologists.

The Embassy supports this initiative of the Paraguayan Society of Ophthalmology through contact established with Alcon, a prestigious US firm, which donated the equipment and medical supplies for the cataract surgeries.
