CANCELLATION OF PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT - Paraguay

The Public Announcement issued for Paraguay on March 19, 2007 has been cancelled, effective upon receipt of this cable.

The conditions described in the Announcement no longer exist.  Up-to-date information on health, safety, and security can be obtained by calling the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's hotline for international travelers at 1-877-FYI-TRIP (1-877-394-8747) or via the CDC's Internet site at http://www.cdc.gov/travel/outbreaks.htm#noticekey. For  information about outbreaks of infectious diseases abroad consult the World Health Organization's (WHO) website at http://www.who.int/en.  Further health
information for travelers is available at http://www.who.int/ith.

Americans living or traveling in Paraguay are urged to register with the U.S. Embassy in Paraguay, where they can obtain updated information about Paraguay. Update bulletins are e-mailed to all registered American citizens with an e-mail address.  Registration is done online and can be done in advance of travel at http://travelregistration.state.gov/.  Americans without Internet access may register directly with the U.S. Embassy in Paraguay.  By registering, U.S. citizens make it easier for the Embassy to contact them in case of an emergency.
