American Embassy holds conference on scholarships and exchange programs

Representatives from the American Embassy in Asuncion held a conference on diverse educational programs, exchange programs, and scholarships. The conference took place in Ciudad del Este where presentations were also made by former scholarship recipients and exchange program participants. These individuals were able to share the experiences they had while studying in and visiting the United States.
The conference in Ciudad del Este was the fourth of six conferences planned for this year. The series of six conferences is primarily directed towards the close to 700 Paraguayan high school and university students currently studying English at various CCPA locations under the ESL micro-scholarship program conducted by the American Embassy in Asuncion. Each conference focuses on informing attendees about the numerous educational and cultural exchange programs offered by the American Embassy. The conferences also serve to motivate the ESL micro-scholarship students to continue on the path to excellence in their study and use of English in order to have the language skills needed to access greater opportunities.
