The U.S. Documentary Festival

The Embassy of the United States of America, with the support of the Paraguayan American Cultural Center (CCPA), presents the first Festival of American Documentaries - "THE U.S. DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL" - from Monday, the 23rd until Saturday, the 28th of August, in the Theater of the Americas, of the CCPA (Jose Berges 297).  On Wednesday, the 25th of August, the documentaries will be played simultaneously, in the Departmental School "Boquerón" of Filadelfia, Chaco; and master classes will be given both in Filadelfia on that day and on Friday, August 27 in the IPAC (Hernandarias 863 c/Piribebuy) of Asunción.

On Saturday, August 28 will be the grand finale, with remarks by US Ambassador, Liliana Ayalde, and  Armando Rubin as well as a short piano concert by Lito Barrios and the presentation and exhibition of the documentary "Note by Note", directed by Benjamin Niles.

All shows are open to the public at no cost.  Documentaries are in English with subtitles in Spanish, and include contemporary themes and award winning works about the environment, immigration, the arts, and American society and culture from the perspective of independent film makers. 

U.S. Documentary film makers Lucas Bessire and Benjamin Niles will introduce each documentary.
