Ambassador Ayalde launches the 2009 Youth Ambassadors Program

Ambassador Liliana Ayalde participated in the presentation of the community project carried out by 10 Paraguayan students who participated in the ParaguyanYouth Ambassadors Program in 2008 and officially launched the 2009 YA Program inviting Paraguayan youth to submit their applications. This was a very emotional ceremony where the 2008 youth ambassadors had the opportunity to talk about their life-changing experience in the U.S. and about their community project. Their community project includes more than project includes more than 45 motivational talks and presentations for youth from different cities of Paraguay, press and TV interviews, volunteer activities, and the donation of textbooks, computers and other equipment to an NGO called“Mil Solidarios” and to 6 schools from a very poor area of Asuncion.
The Ambassador saluted the youth ambassadors for their achievement as young leaders committed to their society and also donated three collections of books. Each Youth Ambassador represents a different part of the country, allowing a positive message of the United States to reach not only Asuncion, but also into the interior of Paraguay.
