Embassy Donates Boats to Paraguayan Customs

The Deputy Chief of Mission, Michael Fitzpatrick, participated in a ceremony at the port of Asuncion to present six small boats to the Paraguayan Customs that will assist host country authorities with interdiction operations, particularly facilitating the work of DETAVE.

Joining Mr. Fitzpatrick were Carlos Rios, Director of Customs, representatives of the National Police, members of the Navy, and the Attorney General.  The boats represent the final installment in a series of donations that has included 12 sets of watercraft equipped with GPS, life preservers, and supplies for counternarcotic operations.
