The Ambassador of the United States inaugurates Paraguayan-American Friendship Garden

At Ñu Guazú Park

April 25, 2007

On Tuesday, April 24, the Ambassador of the United States, James Cason, inaugurated the Paraguayan-American Friendship Garden at Ñu

Guazú Park (Entrance 2, in front of the lake). National and Embassy authorities, among others, were present at the event.

This garden has been designed by the Embassy of the United States of America, in honor of the long friendship between the United States and Paraguay, and in commemoration to the memory of General Martin T. McMahon, second American diplomat in Paraguay, under whose mandate, the United States supported Paraguay in the Triple Alliance War. This event marks the end of a serie of events that the Embassy has been organizing to celebrate Earth Day in this country.

The Paraguayan-American Friendship Garden has a great diversity of plants and flowers, an automatic sprinkler water system, a gazebo, benches and walkways.
