Mrs. Cason donated 1000 doses of anti-parasite medicine (mebendazole) and three cases of Tylenol.
These medicines were provided to the Embassy by the U.S. based NGO National Cancer Coalition which has made available over $30 million USD worth of cancer and other essential medicines to poor Paraguayans over the last three years. much needed mattresses. The mattresses were provided by the Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation as part of their humanitarian outreach effort operation “Handclasp”.
Hogar Santa Rita is managed by the Sisters of the Congregation of Mariana Virgin of Miracles of Caacupe. It provides meals to 120 school children and is also home for 20 abandoned and orphaned children.
Note: The Tylenol donation was provided by way of the National Cancer Coalition through a generous donation from the AmeriCares Foundation and Johnson & Johnson. The donation included over 17,000 units of various types of much needed pain relief medications that were provided to 80 Paraguayan hospitals, clinics, schools and orphanages that assist the underserved.
